Yeah, yeah...I know...this is really late...but I got to see Sevendust on the 12th with Cold, Atomship and Apartment 26. Sevendust, as usual, blew the friggin roof off the place. One interesting thing was the song "Angels Son." Before Lajon sang it, he told us that he had almost committed suicide after his brother died, and listening to this song is what stopped him from doing so. Then he said that he had talked to a mother before the show. The mother introduced him to her son. She then told him that she had just lost her son, and her still living son had lost his only brother. He said just hearing that meant that Angels Son would mean that much more during this particular show. During the song, the crowd erupted into the lyrics, and sang so loud that Lajon dropped the mic to his side, and started crying. It was almost like it meant so much to him that we knew the words to the song and we were singing it for him, emotion overtook him. Us singing, mixed with the mom before the concert..Lynn Strait (the reason it was written) and talking about his brother just broke him down. He literally let the crowd sing almost half the song before he wiped the tears away and sung it himself.
Also, it was only...I think the third song since they had returned from Australia..and he said he hadnt heard a crowd make that much noise for them since they were last in the states.
We loved it. Cold kicked ass. Atomship was cool. Apartment 26....well....no comment.
forgot to mention, I have 2 guitar pics from the show also. Vinny threw one and it hit my wife...that one was used. The other one I got was at the end of the show, when they throw all of the picks they have left into the crowd...so I have one used, one unused. I thought that was pretty cool. I'd kill to have a stick from Morgan though. I played drums for 6 years and it'd be nice to have one of his sticks!
